Besides storytelling, I like a lot my gear, they are part of my learning path and part of my style. A good camera for me must be small, fast, resistant, black, invisible, quiet (except my Canon AE1 that is a monster), easy to carry but I always try to keep in mind this quote :

Your “Depth of Field” should not be more important than “Depth of feeling”

Leica Q-P

This is my best and main digital camera at the moment, it’s like carrying a sketchbook and taking notes of what’s happening around me. My purpose for photography is storytelling, documentary style, let others not just see my pictures, but live the emotion around that moment. To pass these emotions is the most important goal as a photographer. I don’t like zoom lens, I like fixed lens better if they are wide so I need to get into the scenes to give a real sense of what is happening!

Sony a6500

What I like of this camera is the size and the performance. I like small cameras, easy to carry around, I like to look at the scene and not to be distracted by the tool, this camera is fast, discreet, always in my pocket and ready to shoot. My favorite lens are the sigma 16mm 1.4, the sony 20mm the sigma 30mm 1.4 and the sony 18-135 mm.

Many notebooks

I love hand writing, I always did since I was child, I like to take notes, I memorize faster when I take notes, I draw my projects, I plan my future, I record the present and look at the past often. I have tons of notebooks, different size, different color for each purpose!

Canon AE1 (mid ‘80s).

This is my first love, Canon AE1. I learned to take picture with this monster, It was my dad’s camera. I still use it now, great for portrait, I like the Ilford 3200 film and the Kodak Portra400. I love quite cameras, this is not, but the sound it make is amazing.
